Default What do people think of the new TT?

I have to admit I wasnt that struck when I first saw it - but its grown on me a bit, and the side profile with the 18" wheels looks amazing! Just like a concept car!

I think theres a good chance it'll handle better than the old model - Audi have shown with the new RS4 that they can make cars which handle very well indeed.

It does not look right in my opion, something which I can not put my finger on just makes it look wrong.
It looks like a badly modified old version, or something or other.

I like it, the old one looked a bit too cutsey (and too much like the new beetle) but the new one patrially keeps the round shape and adds a sharper look.

I think the new car looks good. However, the image of the TT needs to shake off that `estate agent` / girly image. This one looks more aggresive, so be interesting to see how it will do competing with the Z4 / STI / VVTI.

I like it.

Very very nice, looks class, and as a road car, I dont doubt it'll drive really nicely.

Ill certainly be booking a test drive, and they're even going to do a performance diesel model, could be just what im looking for.

The shape does not immeditely do it for me, Looks a bit like a Ford Focus ! Would be worth a test drive if they do a diesel version !

i wish i was the designer for all these cars that SN thik have rubbish image problems.

TT, X5's, MX5.......all are regarded by SN as being of poor image yet all normal people love them.

I wonder if car makers will factor this into new design? Leak a new design to SN and if it gets the thumbs down you know its a hit!

Sure can

1) Peugeout 406 1.8 LX (has aircon)
2) MR2 GT (may become a trackday car)
3) Impreza Wagon (UK turbo)

Hope That Helps

resembles a cross between the concept prodrive p2 and a porcshe cayman! Personally it looks more agressive, but its a shame no quattro with the 2.0 TFI engine!

I would imagine the new TT would compare favourably to those three, don't you? Performance, handling, looks? I suspect you might even LIKE it! If you don't, well hey, there's no accounting for taste. After all, with a 406/MR2/Impreza in the garage, looks clearly don't enter your equation

Anyway, to me it looks great, esp. the interior. Can't wait to drive one.

Sure - each one does it's job perfectly

When I sold my 330CI sport a few weeks back, had several TT owners after it as they couldn't live with the lack of space in the TT.. horses for courses as they day.

Thats a plain nasty car!! I would have thought they might have struggled to release something worse than what they had already, I'm an Audi fan but my word they got this one wrong big time

Unfortunately they arent going for the 40/60 torque split as in the Rs4 but will still retain the haldex AWD system meaning full front wheel drive untill the rear wheels spin. Not a recipe for a fun drivers car. It still looks good though and not as girly in shooting brake form.

Just hope it isnt a boring as the last TT, My old 225bhp TT felt to slow and handled like a tractor. But interior and styling was as good as you would expect from a Audi, just not a drivers car like the Boxster or the S2000.

Mrs 'sticks' has got a 225 TT and I drive a MY03 WRX wagon , I find the TT sticks to the road like glue ,hasn't got the oomph of the Scooby but is a lot more fun through the bends . I think the new shape TT will take a bit of getting used to as the old one is so familiar now

Doesnt really look much different to me.Looks like the old one was very successful so Audi have stuck with a winning formula. Not really my cup of tea though.Give me an mx-5 anyday

the FWD versions should handle similiar to the golf gti. I presume the 3.2 quattro handles like a R32.

Yeah you are wrong there tiggs - normal people may have once liked the X5 (I admit I used to think it was ok ) but now it seems to have become a symbol of the things that are wrong with society - IMO they represent greed, excessive borrowing, selfishness (etc etc)

But hey Im sure the X5 owners club will be along in a minute to explain how they are genuinely 'better than everyone else' etc

Saying that, it was probably down to the tyres, I changed the standard 17s to the 18inch RS4 replicas and they come with cheap tyres.

The other thing I hated as well was the gearbox, it felt to clunky on changes. But the one thing I did love was the heated seats, you dont get luxury like that in the scoob.
