091 - Fast Club 2006. This month there is an interesting shoot out between a diverse mix of cars including a Hartge H1, a Rage Buggy , and Dodge Ram to name but a few.
The Mitsubishi FQ340 provesd to be quicker than a 997 Carrera S to 100mph by 0.02 of a second ! They also did MAX runs, and the Clio Trophy managed 134.2mph, which is short of the claimed top speed ?!!? As far as grip goes though the Porshce and the Evo are about on par pulling over 1.1G
I will read on............

You might aswell get a TVR, cheaper, more exotic and just as fast or faster if your not talking about the Z06.

TVR - no thanks, I want a car that works, not some ****ty unreliable heap.

Reliability has risen dramatically. Have you seen the interior of the Z06 or heard about the ride. Id rather get a ultima GTR than corvette. Cheaper alot faster, just as comfortable.

A much as I'd love an Ultima GTR to say it's as comfortable as a Corvette is laughable. One is a road legal race car, the other a fast road car
You can't make this stuff up.
Cheers mate, thanks for the laugh!

A Z06 has no comfort at all. Unless they cheated and gave publications Z06 with the track ready suspension setup so they post fast lap times and then the customer Z06 more friendly set-up. GM is known to do marketing BS of the sort. Makes you wonder why they didnt realise offcial ring times for the Z06 even though they booked the entire track out for themselves.

LOL - your awesome
Any car that can get to 100 and stop again in 13.95 secs is going to post pretty quick times......and this on an engine/brakes that are just 300 miles old!
Anyway.....can't wait to see what other rubbish you post

Yeah a 2 tonne mercedes can do that too but you dont see that posting such fast times. Also some american magazines have the 0-60 times for the Z06 listed as faster than an enzo. Infact all the times from amsrican magazines are always a second or so quicker than the times from european magazines.
But if you want to waste your money on a Z06 thats your choice. A M3 csl did the ring only 8 secs slower than the Z06 and that has like a 140hp disadvantage and is limited to 155mph I belive. Shows you what a truly great handling car can do compared to a medieval chassis witha great big stonking engine. The Z06 is nothing special.
So you own a 15 yr old porsche No wonder you think corvettes so great. But on reliabilty stakes Id take the TVR anyday. And I thought you said the TVR was a heap of ****

Yeah I own a very reliable 15 year old 944 turbo (200 laps of the ring and counting), a Clio Cup and an Astra Sri.
To be honest I'd own many cars before the corvette, I just think i'd find room for one in my dream garage.
BTW can you even drive? I suspect you are not very old at all.

BTW a Corvette will suffer as many electrical problems as a TVR, because it's also made of fibreglass. Twice as many wires to everything electrical, you see.

4th fastest lap in what? This car should be compared to TVR's and Ultima GTR's etc. Its a shoddily put together, flimsy yet about 200kg overweight thats only good at track days. Its basically a track day car and at that a poor one. A ultima Gtr would **** all over this.
And audi's RS4 posted a lap of 7'58 around the ring. The corvette C6 posted a time of 7.59. The 'ring time for the Z06 however is disregarded as its unofficial without a propper source. Just pure hearsay, and if it was true the marketing machine otherwise known as GM would have taken full advantage of it.

And whats really funny is that the audi's top speed is limited to 155mph so it would have posted an even faster lap if the limiter was removed. Corvette is simply overglorified. We have better homegrown talent than that 7.0L 500hp POS.
