I really need to grow up !
Even aged 35 and driving a boring Saab I still cannot ignore the sound of a noisy exhaust, just have to have a go, usually the owners of noisy cars dont give mine a second glance but make your present felt and they get the idea.
Was nipping for some bits at B and Q and on the way back a Civic Type R appears behind me, very close, so I put my foot down then let him past, come to the next roundabout and he goes for it with me stuck to his back this time, repeat 3 times, nice and quiet so no one to annoy.
Net result, a very confused young lad in a CTR with blacked out windows, non standard exhaust and lowered wondering how I kept up, it was slightly quicker and I mean slightly, pulled perhaps a car length, sounded amazing and was spitting flames on gearchanges. Lovely looking car.
Slowed down and let on, both grinning inanely.
I need my **** kicking by something big time, last time was a RS6 which I kind of expected.

Kids knocked over ?
Walking down a 70 mph limit bypass ?, I doubt that and I do exercise due caution and restraint, no red mist, just a blast to a smidge more than the limit from 30 mph with no other cars around, no way do I do anything like that in a built up area.

For every story I read in the paper about a careless driver killing someone I read 10 about some ned chibbing someone. I know what I'm more worried about when out and about and I know what I want my tax resource to tackle and it sure as hell isn't a CTR and Saab having a bit of dual carraigeway banter

I have 3 kids, I live in a quiet cul de sac and get irate at people who speed down there, theres a time and a place to have a bit of fun, I use my common sense.
Anyway, its a performance car website, by their very nature 99% of the cars mentioned on here are capable of exceeding the speed limit, I backed right off when I decided that I was going too fast, it was an interesting exercise but not one I was prepared to cause undue danger for.
Perhaps now I have been chastened we could continue on topic bearing the road safety message in mind ?

does struv want a nice piece of cod to go with that?
Anyway, I was driving at 70 on the motorway the other day and someone passed at 80mph. Crazy bloke, I mean please think of the kids, they're always playing by the motorway and innocently running out to pick up their football. He's gonna run on of them over one of these days.

PC brigade are generally gay, very old or Labour MP's, about time the majority were in control of this country.......
I have kids and IMO there is no harm in accelerating quickly to a sensible speed, with another car in front or behind If this is classed as racing then so be it, it is generally fun and safe outside of built up area's etc.
Carry on racing boys and girls!!!!!

Sorry to the majority of snetters, i just couldn't resist, i hate the holier than thou pc brigade, and when i saw the oppurtunity to send one up. Well i just couldn't resist.
If there is any good that has come from this its that the teeside neanderthal once angry suddenly gains the ability to type and spell semi coherently.
You right it is so easy to accuse some on from behind the safety of a screen. though i wish mine was in a safer place to be honest. I do hope we can meet and we can have a spirited discussion, though my mother didn't christen Rob878 you know. However if your in a hurry just pop to brize and get the trooper out on wednesday.
PS thankyou for keeping me amused. and sorry to the other chaps i just needed cheering up and he did it wonderfully
