I had a 216 GSi once - was good motoring for 12 months as it only cost £1100 but then the clutch, head gasket and ECU all went at once whilst i was working in London for 3 months, so I scrapped it.

I'd digress and throw the 214 Sli 16v into the ring. Better handling due to the hatchback, and the British Racing Green one also took an additional 2 secs off the 0-60. It's the Rover law!
£900 if quality, and with an electric sunroof. Fun for bugger all money...

We have a 216sli and it's great. Worth about £100 at the most, but starts everytime and is economical too. Perfect run around car and not badly equipped. Pisses over a Ford Escort etc.
