Default Cheapest place to get a Ford Focus

Could anyone point me in the right direction of where there are good deals on new or nearly new Ford Focus's - not bothered about the ST just the bog basic 1.6 hatches.

Cheers

drivethedeal.com

cargiant.co.uk

virgin cars (now taken over by DC Cook I recall)

gr8newcars.com

carfile.net

And many others. Best to choose the exact spec you want with options then do the rounds of the main sites. Mags like Car, What Car etc have a list of the good sites and good offers going around.

Our last two cars, both brand new, were bought via a net car broker and not only did it save us money, but both were deleivered FOC on the back of a low loader so less than delivery miles outside your front door. Love it...

we bought our new 2.0 tdci estate from buyacar.co.uk.

If everything goes smoothly internet brokers are great, if things don't then you suffer the level of customer service you expect given the low margin on the sale.

We waited 8 weeks for the car to be delivered - approached the low loader with great excitement - only for it to be a hatchback rather than the estate we ordered they accepted responsibility and organised a loan car (which we had to insure) to cover a holiday we had planned, but we still had to wait another 8 weeks for the correct vehicle.

We STILL don't have the V5 and the car was delivered in October. The company line on that is that Ford delay release of the V5 to internet brokerage firms to make it harder for the end client to quickly re-sell the car and undercut the dealer network...

Classic case of you pays your money..

Why don't you try your luck and go direct to a Ford dealer, they are crying out to sell their vehicles.
I work for Ford and get a good employee discount but very often hear of non ford customers getting just as good a deal as I do.
Non-Ford customers can also benefit from perks like free insurance and low rate finance which are things I am excluded from, so it might be worth a phone call.
Try calling dealers out of your area i.e about 40-50 miles or so as you seem to get better offers then just play one dealer off another.

Hope that helps

Mark.

Ian, agree, but to be fair, that could happen with any dealer you go directly to. I know both the internet brokers we have used literally just put you in touch with a main dealer at the agreed price, so one phone call to the broker is all it takes and then you never deal with them again. Thus, the order form for both cars was the dealer form, and if it was clearly marked down, and you turned up to get the car and it's the wrong model, then the dealer has screwed up regardless of using the internet.

There do seem to be different levels of brokers - I prefer the ones who just put you in touch with a main dealer then depart - your agreement etc is all with the main dealer, so it's the same as if you walked in off the street - only in some cases a lot further away (but without the hassle of negotiating).

We used carfile.net for the Scooby and drivethedeal for our 307 and both were fine - gave us the details (no payment or anything required) then you spoke to the salesmen in the dealership from then on. Piece of **** really...

Are you sure the car hasnt been bought by the broker via a fleet sales agreement therefore they will just keep the V5 for 6 months before releasing it to yourselves with you being the 2nd owner?

Try these guys..

http://www.lseaves.co.uk/

Smallest Ford franchise in the UK and nice chaps to boot. Got a '53 ST220 Estate from them...lots of toys for a tad over 14K.

A Focus should be a doddle...just give 'em a buzz.
