Default Wrx sti Vs Ibiza cupra 20vt

http://www.filegone.com/9thc

Link above shows the Wrx sti (with PPP) at its best..............looking at the exhaust pipes of a faster superior car.

Enjoy.

P.S 1/4 mile as well by the looks of it.

Ibiza looks pretty well modified FMIC, possibly IHI'd?? Well finished, apart from the bodykit?!

The Impreza looks pretty standard so dont think you can say that the Seat is a superior car. Race them standard vs standard and the Impreza would come out on top over 1/4 drag.. But, IMO, that isnt how you find out which car is superior to another car.

Cheers,
Grant

Pretty much as RS Grant touched on, all it tells u is that this perticular Ibiza is faster than that perticular impreza. U have to look at the bigger picture. Well done to the Ibiza owner all the same, it must have been a dream come true.

To be honest... I know that there are different opinions about all of that but I'm of the thinking that anything you can buy as an option from the dealer isnt really "modifying" the car.

Damn, looks like I took the bait too easily, sprinkle some more... I'll leave it alone this time, promise!!

Grant

I think just to be sure they repeated it a few times with the result always being the same.

You have ruined it now Grant wait one..........if it was not for the music you could hear the Ibiza has dropped a coil pack and is running on 3 cylinders as well. And the clutch was slipping.

I dont have any doubt that u could have took those two perticular cars on 100 runs and u would still get the same result. Thats with those two cars and only those two cars.
The problem will laying bait on this thread is that not many folk will take it as there is visible evidence for all to see. Its when somebody makes a claim with no proof, they get shot down.

Thumbs down

Children! Play nicely! Scoobynet is starting to become a joke with people coming along to bait the sensitive scoob drivers and then all the scoob defensive comments turning into how so many threads are starting to in OTHER MARQUES now. Doh!

Can we play another game now? Tiddlywinks maybe?

If u dont like it u shouldnt post on it or even bother reading it.

LOL. Its a video clip of one box with 4 wheels going quicker than another box with 4 wheels. Its just something to watch rather than watch Pete Burns on Big brother. You surely knew what kind of thread it would be simply by the title.

There you go, run along and go tell all your other seat buddies that they're best! Isn't that what you want??

I'm not quite sure what you are trying to prove? We all know that the Ibiza has been highly modified, and that the Impreza is standard. (PPP is a UK gimmick to squeeze even more cash out of the buyer. A JDM sti comes with over 300bhp standard, so not really fair to call it modified at all.)

The Ibiza kicks out 150bhp in standard trim yes? Those engines can be tuned upto 260-280bhp before the need to have a front mount intercooler fitted. So we can assume that the Ibiza has over 300bhp, yes? And its lighter, and 2 wheel drive, (giving one hell of lot of wheel spin in the vid!) so far less transmission loses.
So yes, an ibiza with over double its standard power output, is a bit quicker than a standard 300bhp sti, once rolling, in a straight line.

Round a track? Hmmm!

A modified lada with similar power would also be a bit quicker than the sti, just the sti (in standard trim) has frightened quite a few Ferrari owners.

Again, i'm really not quite sure what you are trying to prove??

Your saying PPP is not a modification, i take it your insurance company says the same and a premium for a uk sti without PPP is the same as one with PPP.

But I thought that PPP only existed in the UK. Isn't that Israel? Didn't think they had PPP over there, and that all other sti's were basically the same as jdm versions?

Default Ibiza Cupra TDi faster than 330 bhp STi!

On journeys over about 240 miles our standard Ibiza Cupra TDi is quicker than our modded STI, if both are driven within the speed limit and you include having to stop for fuel....

I think I could find many examples where one car is 'better' than the other!!

Strange thing is I never feel like getting out of bed on a cold Sunday morning to go for a blast in the Cupra....'chug,chug, rattle, rattle'

Good video and if you take the comments as banter then it's all a bit of fun isn't it!!
