My Scooby replacement

My Scooby replacement
Well after selling my MY96 scooby at the end of last year I been building it's replacement.
It's a 1975 Mini Minus (fibreglass bodyshell) basically running RWD. Driven by a 2003 Yamaha R1 engine and gearbox
It's not long been finished. Typically have barely driven it since it became road legal due to horrible weather but early indications are it's an absolute riot!!
The limiter is at 11,500rpm with clutchless upshifts
The engine is pretty much standard only the air filter and exhaust are different. So if it's making it standard 160bhp the car works out at 270bhp per ton
Primarily it's a weekend plaything so I'll hopefully be at a few tracks and the odd 1/4mile next year.
Anyway you can see pics and a couple of vids at www.adesmini.co.uk
Once the weather improves I'll get some better finished pictures and hopefully some videos of her fully opened up
Ade
If anyone wants to post some pics on this thread for me feel free

Ahh yes the twin engined nutter thing!! Great piece of kit!!
I've gotta say I'm really pleased with it! It's turned out just as I'd hoped when I started Now just need some nice weather and time to learn how to drive it properly and enjoy it

Mini's are great because they way **** all, my mate had a 400Bhp Saff Cos and we were heading to an RS meet in Essex when this Mini came up behind us, my mate floored it and the Mini was sticking with us. My mate let it passed and when we got the meet the Mini was there, turned out the bloomin' thing had Civic Type-R engine shoe horned in!!!!

Well it sounds good, couldnt get the video's to work apaprt from the sound, tried winamp and Media Player but just got a corrupted screen.
Good work,
GC8, can you provide a photo of yourself for comparison, a comment like that demands one for comparison, perhaps by the nurses.

Hi all
Sorry for the slow reply have been really busy with work! Damn company want me to work for the money they pay!! Bloody cheek if you ask me!
Anyway your quite right that in the video it's not even getting into the top half of the rev range! That was literally one of the first road tests after completion.
Once we actually get a couple of days with dry roads I'll get another vid done of full acceleration! It's very very different!!
It is a Z-cars conversion but as it was made for the minus it's a one off and different to the standard mini one.
GC8 cheeky begger!! My mummy says I'm very handsome!!
Obviously I haven't done any timed runs yet but expect it to hit 60 from a standing start in about the 4-4.5sec range. And should be good for 12.5-13sec quarter miles
The only thing I've had a vague play with so far was a bmw mini cooper s works....... coming out of a roundabout with him nailed to my back end after two gears I couldn't see him!!
I bought the bodyshell last year in november and took it too Z-cars for the kit to be made in december.
I got it back at the end of february. Typically just as I had an operation on my abdomen so work didn't start fully until april time. So it's not taken too long.
Price wise well taking into account the rarity of the shell (that cost me £1500) the paintwork I couldn't do myself (that was another £1500) it's probably cost me all in about 15K.......
Well worth though i think
