DC2 Great handeling car. On the twisties despite having a supercharger and chassis upgrades on my CTR I can just about keep up with my m8 in his stock DC2. The suspension, steering feedback and LSD combine to make it THE best FWD handeling car ever made (IMHO). If there is a drawback it is quite raw and on long motorway journeys the 5 speed box can be a bit of a pain.
There is a JDM white one for sale for 6995 by a girl on www.type-r-owners.co.uk. We also have many owners in particular a guy called Hasnic is pretty knowledgeable about these. Give him a shout if you like. Nice chap.

I ment comparitively. Cruising in 6th allways a better option if you have it. Just trying to point out all the pros and cons. And yes I have driven a STI Type RA, currently drive a Ver 7 STI and a CTR. As you can see from my post have a lot of respect for the Teg, just wanted to point out that it is worth baring in mind that if your journeys are involving a long commute or mainly motorway driving.

That's trashed - the synchro's are a weakpoint (relatively speaking).
And no matter what you might think the rev counter says, a standard teg will not hit 8900rpm.

I had a 99 (V) Teg and it had covered about 40,000 miles - gearbox was on its way out. Had an uprated clutch fitted at Option Motorsport (as this was what we thought the problem was) but still had problems. Option said the previous owner must have kept dipping the clutch at high revs or something like that. Either way he was a pillock...no that Im bitter.
I sold straight away.

On the DC5 and EP3 the syncros are a lot stronger.
My old EK9 used to go to 9100 verified on a RR, with some help from a new ECU, and some otgher tweaks

TypeR is correct. Fwiw my X plater is nearly on 60k and the clutch/box are still mint, aslong as you treat the car with a modicum of respect it should give 100% reliable service.
I've done 25k in mine now and still love driving it
