Agreed. I had a Superchip in a 106 GTi, not worth the money.
I took my old 106 GTi in for an induction kit and chip. There is an uphill section of road near me where I did some performance testing. 0-100 (per speedo) was 25 secs before the mods, fell to 22 afterwards.
There was a performance gain, but it was too small to feel. The induction kit sounded great, and gave most of that performance gain.
Overall induction work was worth it, chip was not.

Afaik its not a full refund. When I got mine done you could only get a refund on the value of the chip itself, not the labour fitting it.
Oh, and you had to pay for the labour for the chip to be removed.....
Up to you, its your money. Just remember its an "up to" 18 bhp gain....not an 18bhp gain. There is a difference

To get performance upgrades from an Evo you need to be looking at head work, new manifold/exhaust system and uprating brakes/suspension. This is only worthwhile if it's for track use.
IMO of course.
