diesel injectors...
hi,
not exactly a scoob-related question but...
... my sisters 1.8 diesel fiesta has what appears to be a leaky injector on no.3
fuel is leaking out of the top, where the inlet pipe is, and out of the bottom where the main nut is...
now, assuming its a fault injector, i thought id remove it and have a look see/ replace..
the haynes says its a 4 spanner job, goes on about fuel pressures/death etc but the actual job only involves unscrewing the top nut and unplugging the fuel inlet, then using a deep socket to remove the injector in a similar way to a spark plug....
am i missing something? if i just do the above, am i going to **** it up / die??!!??

as it says,Its quiet easy.Be aware the pipes crack from vibration where they bolt to the top of the injector.Probably whats causing the leak at the top.Normally only a hairline crack so very difficult to see.
