Default Serious Motors

What kind of cars are there that give off all the right vibes, i.e. the kind of cars that could only be owned by an enthusiast, not a poser or somebody who bought it by mistake. The kind of cars that you see and there is nothing you can fault, for example TT's are quite nice, reasonably quick but no proper petrol head would be seen dead in one. Ferraris are wonderful but I always think it either a lottery winner or a complete poser apart from a few models.

Few examples, would think of a few more but my six year old is planning to take his Sti out and if I leave it to him there will be plastic all over the road.

Any *serious* caterham, lotus 7, westfield etc...And im not talking about the 1.6cvh powered ones either; serious enough for the driver to wear a helmet.

A completely original, 1993 White, Ra impreza, no spoiler, no fogs, no skirts, no nothing. Complete with mud splattered down the side.

I know of a 'my daddys very rich' lad who has owned 2 or 3 R34 GTRs (keeps writing them off) he poses unless hes driving like a d!ck and then he just ditchs them

Vauxhall VX220. Stonking car, but the wrong badge and image, so one for those "in the know". Like me.

I think any car can fall into the wrong hands

But, I'll agree with a skyline gtr, as I own one

Early 5 turbo as mentioned above, Lancia Delta maybe.

Chris

I think the proper Westfields/7s/Caterhams are the best examples. Agree with a lot of the others put forward too.

Lancia Stratos is another.

TVR. I would think only an enthusiast buys one, even in spite of the looks and performance, as, unfortunately, their reputation for poor reliability precedes them.

Shame really, lovely motors IMO.
