Default Porsche inspection

buddy of mine is buying a Porsche Boxster, however he has asked me what is the best way to get it inspected, i.e. the RAC or AA etc. or an independent specialist, and would an independent specialist, come out to it or would it have to be put up on ramps.

Finally does anyone know of a good specialist in the Manchester, Cheshire area that could carry this out, he or i for that matter know nothing about Porsche's and he does not want to buy a dog.

Thanks chaps

Don't bother with an AA/RAC inspection on a vehicle like this. Either get an independant Porsche specailist or main dealer to check the car over.

First you need to find out if the dealer/indy can send somebody out or if they will need the car brought to them. Secondly if the seller is unwilling to submit the car for inspection, walk away!

Any Official Porsche dealer will check the car over with a fine tooth comb for about £150, they will tell you everything that needs attention or is out of place.

You would of course have to take the car to their dealership though.

That actually seems pretty cheap

JZ Machtech are pretty well-respected indies, but I don't think they're near Manchester

The official porsche inspection costs £250 and provided it passes(and the car is less than ten years old) you can then buy a years warranty for 750. This is what I did when I bought my Boxster in may.
