How much is my GTI worth?
205 GTI, 1.9
88 'F' plate on 115k.
12 months MOT, 6months Tax.
Cherry Red quite shiny after a T-Cut, very straight bodywork. Unmarked 1.9 alloys and the tyres have plenty of tread. Brand spanking front pads, discs and battery. Tidy interior. Half leather interior in reasonable condition for the year. All interior switches and gauges work.
Idles a bit erratically but i think they all do. Could maybe do with a service.
Very reliable, no real major problems to speak of apart form a few minor little problems with a car this age.
What do you all think i should expect for it?
Thanks in advance.
Matt.

I would say about a grand for a good example. I would imagine it would be easy to sell due to the price of them now.
In the past i have been tempted into getting one myself as a toy as it is a modern classic that i never had one in my youth when i loved them.
I can now afford to live the dream due to the cheepness of them. You get a lot of car for what you pay for them now IMHO and what else can you get with that sort of performance for under a grand

I bought a G reg one a bit back 9 months' MOT, 3 months' tax, 100k, new head/cam for £260................
It had a full leather interior and was mint (and graphite grey - the best colour).
But I am a shark and sold it for £800 a couple of days later (and the buyer ripped my hand off as he expected to pay far more) lol.
A grand's a bit high - £800

Where did you find that one then?
I was thinking about £900 to be honest, i just wasnt totally sure if that was about right.

i sold my 1.4 XS 1990 (1.9 GTI Look-a-like) for £575. u will be lucky to get £900 coz when u start talking over a grand, folk are going to go for a newer car. unless they really really want a 205. good luck anyway.
