911 Carrera engine mods
Anyone know a reputable Porsche specialist in the northwest who can to an unleaded conversion on a 1989 Carrera.
The car's only covered 15k and is absolutley mint, just a pain to get leaded fuel for it and don't want to mess about with additives.
Some extra power would be nice too

I'm surprised a 1989 911 needs a conversion to run on unleaded. Are you sure?
As regards specialists, I have heard nothing but good comments about http://www.ninemeister.com/
Not used them myself but very well known and respected on pistonheads.

Is North Yorkshire any good(apart from being North EAST)? http://www.specialistcarsltd.co.uk/indexa.html are a top shop, but charge top prices for an independent.

Your 3.2 will be fine with unleaded - speak to Autofarm in Oxfordshire - but that is the recommendation.
Perhaps more importantly with a low mileage air cooled would be to get cylinder leakage test which may highlight need more major work. Low mileage is attractive but can be terribly 'corrosive' to air cooled engines.

btw, do you mean short runs are bad ?
This car has low mileage because is has for the last 10 years, only been run for 3/4 weeks in the summer when the owner was home. It has a FSH and when it has been run, its been on long drives (ie ~40-200 miles).
