I've heard you really have to rev the 2.5, is it really that slow.

They're coming down a bit now, possibly within my reach

Cheers!

Looked at one today, am absolute dog i have to say, if that car had done 32k i'd show my a*se in Burton's window. The guy told me that the 2.5 is just as fast as the 2.7, i find that hard to believe somehow

Im not trying to put down your possible choices here, but if you're looking at a Boxster 2.5 or 2.7, then really, why not just buy an S2000?
That way, you get better performance than either of those, and pay less for similar age car.

If you were looking at a Boxster S, than sure, its a top notch sports car that is every bit as good, if not better, than its rivals, but to go for the lesser models just seems to me like its a badge only purchase, as there are better sports cars around for the money.

Drove 2.5 a couple of years back. Was ok but nothing special. Set up was brilliant though. Last year drove a 2.7 and 3.2 back to back. Went for the 2.7, could hardly tell the difference between the 2 (other than the gearbox).

The 2.5 did feel slower than the 2.7 but there was a good 12 month gap between driving them.

I looked at a few Boxsters and they all seemed to have crappy worn interiors.

S2000 is the best soft-top for the money imo.

F**king hell another one, i thought exactly the same when i went looking at weekend, even lowish mileage examples, the interiors looked crapa and worn.

It was one thing that put me right off.

Only the very latest and lowest mileage examples seemed to have half decent interiors

I went to a local dealer and they really were all that bad. I couldnt undertsand it myself as on paper the boxster had already won me over.

Take a look at an 02-onwards and a 04-onwards S2000.

Build quality is spot on.
