Default Saxo Power Steering Help pls

Hi people

Took my mate to the airport in his car (Saxo VTR) yesterday and all the way there and back the Power Steering pump was whining like mad.

I've checked the Fluid levels and everything is fine. Does this mean that the pump itself is knackered or is there something that i am missing.

If I turn the wheel from side to side when stationary it can lower the noise and sometimes even stop it.

Strange

Any help would be much appreciated, and then hopefully i'll be able to fix it before he gets back, otherwise he'll just keep using it like that!

Thanks in advance

if the fluid is ok and its turning without any trouble then I can't see how much can be wrong with it. Maybe the pump is on its way out by way of the audible whine.

usually there's a belt/pully that drives the power steering motor, maybe thats slipping or something?

are the tyres pressures ok on the fronts?

If its under warranty get it checked out or better still take it to a dealer and as what they think.
