I would say yes. I don't think you are allowed sharp edges. Stick a load of Gaffer tape over it and it will be fine

I think the sharp edges only applies to corrosion, still wazzing some gaff tape over it isn't gonna be the end of the world is it!

 

I'd think it'd pass...unless you take it to a "cheepo" MOT station- where they nit-pick at absolutely everything (that's how they make their money - on MOT repairs ). The fact no sharp objects are PROTRUDING (sticking out of the body) should make it ok

Bit of gaffer/duct tape over it and you'd be sorted anyway
