Default Anyone got a Evo 7 GSR!

With the new MY06 scooby looking like a right mess, was thinking the otherday of what new car I should start looking at, as im getting a bit bored of the performance of my 04 WRX and dont want to spend a load of money modding the engine, So was looking at the Evo 9 and to be honest it looks all right but I still think the Evo 7 looks much better and is much cheaper, so has anyone got any views on what there like to live with and how many miles do they have to be serviced, Also if there is anyone under 22 who own one what insurance companys are you with as I think the only thing that might be a problem is getting a company to insure me.

Looks a really nice example, the kind of evo 7 i will be looking for when I get rid of me scoob, just insurance is a bit of a pain to get, the cheapest ive got so far is £3,700 on my dads insurance, I only pay around £800 at the moment on the scoob, wish I was a bit older.

Ive always been on my dads name for insurance, cause if I wasnt I would be driving a decent car, Ive been driving since I was 18 when I had a 106 GTi, then at 19 I had a MY00 scooby paying £1200 then at 21 I had a Audi TT 225 and I was paying £800, now im 22 I have a 04 WRX paying £800, So I cant see why im getting silly quotes between £3k-£5k for a evo on Confused.com.

Going to try Elephant.co.uk now and see what they come up with.

I had a beautiful Evo 7 FQ 300 for 6 months after a WRX 03 PPP. It was a totally wicked car drivewise, superb, amazing handling, very direct steering, and extreme raw power/acceleration. However, I soon discovered it wasn't really an everyday car, it was incredibly noisy on motorways, very hard ride, notchy gearchange at high revs, very tight Recaro seats, (built for very small Japanese people, i'm fairly slim too and my nuts were being crushed every drive, as well as the blood circulation in my legs ceasing!) and the build quality left a lot to be desired. Servicing is every 4500 miles. It depends what you want! I now have an STi 03 which, all round, i'm much happier with, even though they are soft and wallowy at the rear, even with Prodrive springs. (they need a thicker anti-roll bar)! If you want a car that goes round corners/bends at mental speeds, then the quickest road car in the world to do that is an Evo! Good luck in finding one.

C2forWRX tried Elephant.co.uk for a FQ300 and it was £825, cant stop jumping for joy, didnt think it would be that cheap.

Does anyone know anyother UK spec Evo 7's, as I was wondering if the GSR was a import or can you get UK spec GSR's as the insurance was cheap cause it was uk spec.

Why is the 7 disliked over the 6 and 8? They seem to be quite hard to sell?

Is growing on me a fair bit.
