BMW 318i 1994 Comments on Ownership Etc
Hi,
Looking at the above as a 2nd car in the house, Mainly for the Mrs
its in excellent condition, Lots of service history, Nice & quiet engine, drives well, has done 118,000 miles. 12 months test, no tax, 17" alloys new tyres, In white, M3 spoiler, Mirrors Etc£1,400 OnO
Whats the common opinion on these .

4 cylinder engines arent as strong as the 6s but they are still great cars. Weak spots on the E36s are CATs (last circa 80-100k miles) plus rear bushes and suspension joints...bar that you shouldnt have any problems.
118k on the clock isnt really anything on one of these-my old man sold his 1995 318 a year ago to go to an E46.His had 160k on the clock and it gave him no grief at all, unlike the newer E46!
If the mirrors are M3 ones then prepare that they can and may well go walkies in car parks. The non-coupe models can have problems tramlining with bigger tyres.
Bar that theres not much to go wrong. Good buys espec under £1500.Best of luck.
