Default Fiat Punto Sporting 1.2 16v

My girlfriend is thinking of getting one in yellow of course, and on a Y-plate just wanted to know some info on what to look for, as ive got to go with her to check the car over, I know the HGT is the better car as its fast etc but she's only 21 and its her 1st car, so it will suit her fine. Also Looking at spending from 3k-4k so if anyone has one or knows one for sale might be intrested.

My ex had a R Reg one and it was a very good car. Cracking engine with a great sound and opretty quick too and hardly used any fuel. Very reliable and happily have one myself

Had major problems with it though. maybe i was just unlucky, but looked and sounded great, and was nippy for what it was.

What problems did you have with it, so when I go to look at one, i can check it over properly.

Hi,

Sorry for the time taken to get back to you.

When i bout the car (it was a w plate, so 3 years old at the time) the exhaust fell off 2 weeks afterwards.

it then developed a mis-fire which was rectified by FIAT by replacing the plugs.

The gearbox was re-built, the head gasket went, heater matrix went, electrics went.

Calipers were replaces as they were sticking.

This mis fire never went away, to the day i sold it.
