sorry this type of thread again, but having some trouble. I want to swap my Mk2 Golf Gti runaround for a convertible just for the summer months. I have a budget of £2000.

Obvious choice is a Golf convertible, but what else would you buy for a little runaround for the summer

E30 BMW 3-series? Could probably get a 320 for that? Audi Cabrio?

 

How about a classic saab 900i convertible or Mr2 T-bar (i know not full convert but pretty close)?

just a warning. I have driven or owned pretty much all pre-GM saabs and the 900i is very underpowered IMHO but so long as you aren't expecting blistering performance it is still a nice car with a lot of character.

 

Ive got an escort cab Mk5 1.6 EFI for sale, just fitted new rear drums/ bearings/ shoes /cylinders, bodywork is v.good, have already had the sills and petrol neck done PROPERLY, has good roof, cat 2, recaros, RCL, recent front brakes, alloys de-tango'd, all for 1k, comes with 12mths mot.
