mercedes clk (2002) - brake squeal
the brakes where squealing a bit but they were getting low with regards to wear however not down to the servicable limit. i've fitted new disks and pads (about 1000 miles ago) but they also seem to squeal intermittently at low speeds when coming to a stop. it's very annoying! anyone got any ideas? would anti squeal compound on the back of the pads help?
cheers

possibly, or check the metal plate behind the rotor, if it has one it could be catching, did you grease the back of the pads with anything? lm or copperslip is ideal or fit anti-squeal shims? just a thought

cheers adam. might throw some copperslip on there. i've realised now it only happens when they are warm, i.e. country road type driving. probably just that the std pads aren't up to the job of stopping the car frequently when braking hard.
