Evo Running Costs
Hi, I'm looking to compare the price of running an EVO 4/5 and an STi V4..
I have always thought that I should steer clear of Evo's due to the AYC, poor MPG etc........ However, I really want to know exactly how much one of these cars costs to run against something I'm more familiar with. (STi V4)
How much is a "normal" service for them??
How much is a "big" service (cambelt) for them??
How much is it to change the AYC Fluid, can it be done DIY style, or does it have to be dealer maintained??
I take it that Insurance will be very similar given that they are both Group 20??
Will the MPG in an Evo be drastically worse than the MPG in an STi.... given they are driven in the same way??
Cheers,
Grant

How much is a "normal" service for them??
A) same as scooby +£50 for ayc oil change
How much is a "big" service (cambelt) for them??
A) probly less than the scooby as the cambelts cheaper
How much is it to change the AYC Fluid, can it be done DIY style, or does it have to be dealer maintained??
A)only £50 from a main mitsu dealer why bother messing
scooby plus = sounds good
evo plus = handles like a dream
the fuel difference isnt massive £30 in the scooby £35 in the evo
if you want the fastest A-B car then it has to be the evo
but scoobys are very good also

Thanks mate... I agree, at only 50quid, may as well be a Dealer that does the AYC fluid.
I'm beginning to feel the pull to the darkside........

I too also joined the dark side and for a while I missed the Scoob.....that was until I got to drive my Evo6. Awesome piece of kit - I do and always will have a soft spot for Scoobs but my word Evo's rock !!

You regret the things you don't do....if you can afford to buy the car, worry about the other things afterwards, you'll be glad you did, trust me!
I own both, but it's the Scoob that's for sale.
