Default Omega 2.5V6 - mods?

What cheap mods are there for the Omega? Things to make it run sweeter, perform better, go faster etc. Also any recommended suspension/braking mods too. No interest in exterior/interior mods. Like the sleeper approach

Oh, CHEAP mods by the way None of this turbo/bunging in a V8 type stuff Want to keep it running reliably too.

(or do I need to get out in the westie a bit more think I've got withdrawal symptoms )

In Retro magazine this month there is a rally car with the same engine in pushing 300 bhp, will dig it out and report back, I dont think it was cheap though !

Air box mod (same as V6 Vectra I think), cool running thermostat & panel filter, don't do induction kit 'cos although it'll sound great it'll also suck in too much hot air and performance will be worse.

Trying doing a Google there's a fair few sites out there with advice on the V6.

For a bit more money 3.0 cams etc will make it go !!!

The rally car was on aftermarket management and a host of other very expensive sounding stuff.

I may not be popular with this remark...... If you are wanting to tune that car on a budget, I would just leave it alone TBH. Messing with the 2.5 may get you to 200bhp, but it will cost hundreds to do that.

If you really love the car wait till you can afford a larger engine. I know you said do not suggest a V8, but those Monaros really shift. Either that or wait till you can afford something else. IMO, I do not think you will get value for money fiddling with what you have got...sorry

Hell no do I love the car, got the westie for that. Just looking for some cheap mods to 'perk it up'. Goes quite quickly as it is but one always wants more Monaro on way in a few years when the prices are approaching the £10k mark.
