well i think tunability goes to a skyline. not porshe or subaru or evo. hence no 700bhp + non nitrous ones but plenty of 1000bhp skylines. il stick with my type RA though but would easily be happy with an r34

A comparison test between a Spec-C, M3 CSL and GT3 showed that ALL three cars were within a nats winky performance wise on track.
As we all know a Spec-C is considerably less expensive (like over half the price of the next cheapest car), but paying less doesnt always mean you get less! True, your cant put a price on image and heritage but other areas (like real world driving) can make up for it.
Back on topic now . lol
That GTIR looks the nads!!!! I would love a car like that in my garage.

Shaun.

I've owned a GTR and P1 for 3 years and both are exception cars at what they're designed for. If you drive fast flowing A-roads a lot, or want to build a 1000bhp car, buy a Skyline. If you spend more time in town and on tighter B-roads, buy an Impreza.
The Skyline is a bigger car, but still handles amazingly well. I've given a few scooby drivers frights taking them for a blast on my favourite back roads, as they cant believe the road holding yet comfort of the Skyline. The impreza is an amazing package for the money, but it's just not possible to build the same standard of car for half the money-they have to cut corners to get the price down. If you honestly think these 2 cars (Impreza / Skyline) are in the same league, I'm afraid you've got a lot to learn about cars!! (0-60 and lap times really don't tell the whole story!). It's horses for courses.

no doubt the skyline is an awesome car to a jawdropping extent, having sat in friends' on the regs, but an impreza has more than enough charm to make people still say "wow" to ownership of one. and to be honest, esp as we are on a dedicated scooby site why even try to slate a car which has built a solid rep for itself in only the past 10/11 yrs? bottom line - jap manufacturers r on the ball. europeans/yanks didnt have atom bombs dropped on them for them to have to start off their industries from scratch. scoobys can hold their own on road and track. nuf said.

I've had both cars for a few years now because it's hard to decide which to keep as they are both fantastic cars, but very different. The Skyline is now up for sale, but if someone offered me silly money for the P1 I'd be swayed.
Dave
p.s. If anyone wants to try a Skyline for themselves, it just happens I have a 500bhp example available here : http://www.subaru.me.uk/gtr

May not be everyone's cup of tea (or practical), but I don't use the scooby much anyway, so one of these would be perfect .

The Skyline GTR is in a different league to a scooby, looks, handling, technology etc.
I have an M5, an i know that an e55 amg, or and RS6 is probably a better car.

at the end of the day its all personal taste, Ive got an impreza and have had a nissan 200sx (300bhp) baby skyline and would give my right ******** for a gtr 32,33 or 34 as they are all awesome peices of kit but at the end of the day cost and taste are the deciding factor.

http://www.subaru.me.uk/gtr- Kart_man that is a lovely example, especially the 'Fun' Button, what i would give to have the power of that by the push of a button!!, what exactly does that engage when pushed, i gather more than just boost pressure??

Anyway, this Z-tune, theres been a lot of talk about it and the general opinion with the skyline community is that its very nice, and if you want a factory tuned skyline its worth going for, but you can make a standard R34 GTR peform better for a lot less money.

Why do some many people come on SCOOBY Net and then act suprised and upset when there is a bias towards scoobys!?
Skyline looks impressive - still on paper though, I'd be really interested to see real time performance, nuremberg ring time for example.
Starting to look a bit dated too IMO, that looks like something straight of fast and furious, just missing the air brushed pics of birds in their swimming gear! Bite me!

I have no problem with the bias on here towards scoobys, I expect it, but every board I go on they go on about all the computer aids, when they clearly have never driven one.
Will look for Nurburgring times, I know Shins car did pretty well.
As for looks, they're all down to personal taste, I like the older style looks of my '32, although standard they do look pretty old now, but they can be upto 16 years old now!
