Default Bye bye STi, hello M3 CSL

As above really. Traded in the STi 7 for an 04 BMW M3 CSL this weekend, and so far I'm really pretty impressed....

BTW, if anyone comes across my old car CK02 CNY, it has the wrong rear windscreen in! Long story but the useles muppets at Autoglass fitted a standard WRX screen (no aerial) after the original was shattered by a loose stone, and I could not find the day or so needed to have the correct one refitted. Uninsured, I think the cost to replace is £400 and somehow I forgot to mention this on trade-in.

Otherwise it is an excellent car, very well looked after, and given my trade-in price is a bit of a bargain!

Jk100,

These cars are awesome bits of kit. I'm very envious!

Get it on a track and find out what it can really do!

Regards,
Shaun.

Right up until the moment jk100 sees the depreciation on an E46 M3

Monster car, monster depreciation, I know I've been there with an E46 SMG Cab, not nice, CSL seems to fare ever so slightly better, but not a lot.

Deprciation's something which I've considered long and hard over... Still, it's covered 6,000 miles, is 9 mths old, has new tyres (not the slicks) and had £20,000 off the original list price.

Welcome to the club! What colour is it? You know the silvergrey ones are fastest?

I'd reccommend getting the camber adjusted too if you want some more steering feel, i have and its alot better but more fidgety, but i'm prepared to put up with it

Congratulations on the car. They are simply superb motors. I saw down my way, and they appear a little more lower, meaner and altogether more menacing than your regular M3. Mind you though, I wouldn't put anything int the back boot. According to some read up's in mags, the back boot has a cardboard floor for weight saving measures. Although I'm sure you never bought the thing for boot space.

Happy motoring mate.

This car is one of a small handful in my "Cars to own before i die list". Really is a proper machine, and i hope you enjoy it lots and lots. The down side is there is nowhere else for you to go after this.......sideways step into a GT3 RS maybe !?!?

happy motoring

The scoobs effectively have a piece of cardboard for a bootfloor and I have never had any problems. I would do if I was chucking breeze blocks in though.

You will have to put some pics up of your CSL. Get one of the engine bay and this carbon intake as it sounds interesting

Yeah Spec C,

I have the GL and I have always wondered how much the carboard bottom and boot carpet weigh but I am not taking a stanley knife to the carpet as it feeds to the rear seats just so I can weigh it to find out

In general though most scoob saloons have the cardboard bottom except Spec C and RA versions?

I think they will soon get to a point of very minimal depreciation ie not that many around and favoured by enthusiasts
