Alfa 156
Hi
Ive liked the cars for years, but have always been put of by the reliability of them, are they really that bad, ive owned a few vauxhalls, one good one bad, and currently have a bmw, and that is perfect.
Has anyone owned a 156, if so can you tell me about them.
Thanks
G

Mate of mine has just had an engine rebuild at 48,000 miles. He hates the car now.
Don't buy a twin spark, as when the engine does go, they are a more expensive to rebuild.
Or get a reliable car instead. Anything Japanese. Not as emotional, but crying is an emotion we can usually do without.

I've had three 156 2.0 ts's over the years and have been lucky not to be hit with the same problems most alfa owners seem to have had. Lovely to drive, nice turn of speed and looks great inside and out. None of the three I've had (and got one just now) drank oil. But based on the number of bad reports you read on the web (and here) that's not the normal story.
