Audi S3 - wots it worth
Mods - this is not meant as an ad - the car is not for sale
Just some advice please...my boss is thinking of selling his Audi S3, but it depends on what he will be able to get for it. X reg with all the toys (sat nav, Bose, xenons, etc), mileage 62,000, silver, just had new gearbox and clutch.
Just wanted some idea as to what it was worth, I reckoned £15,000 maybe a bit more, just wanted to know if this was a realistic figure, or wide of the mark
Cheers
Gareth

Spot on with the money though, £12 - £13000 at the very most

As regards the damaged gearbox, it was a serious hit - I was in the car with him at the time - and as it was an insurance claim against the council/contractors it was easier and cheaper in terms of labour to replace the entire unit. He took the opportunity to replace the clutch at the same time..simple as that really.
Thought the new 225 version may have had an effect on prices, hadn't realised by that much though.
Cheers

The main hit on price isnt the engine change but the facelift change, your boss may well have a facelift one as its x reg, facelift available as early as X and Y reg, some Y reg ones are 225 aswell, think it was the 51 reg where they are all 225 facelifts.
A facelift X reg will be worth more than a non facelift X reg.
When i was buying mine i was specifically looking for a facelift 210 as a facelift 225 was £400 more to insure (its an insurance group higher!!)
Mark
p.s. Low mileage, high spec cars still demand a good price but they're hard pretty rare. mid-> high mileage with low spec are ten a penny, especially in silver!!

Makes me laugh really, everybody tells me how unreliable Rovers are (seeing as I bought one), crappy VW's/Merc's/Audis and BM's dont get talked about so much, 3 gearboxes in 20k is abysmal. Mate told me about his bosses TT, 9 months ownership, 3 months with the dealers. What is it with the British public, slag off the home grown product (some of it justified, granted) and brush under the carpet the dodgy German stuff.
