There was a twin turbo R32 doing some runs at gti international and that was in the 10s over the quarter mile IIRC the thing sounded awesome like an audi Quattro

Nice vid, cars a bit noisy for my taste.

Think the tester should have got his foot a little closer to the roller

That is awesome

You can switch it to 2WD by removing a simple relay apparently - the 4WD system is crap, so couldnt cope with the power.

Not true, the Haldex 4wd system as found on the R32 can easily handle the power- the problem is it shifts power fore and aaft as it thinks the wheels are spinning causing it to jump about on the rollers- it causes most modern dyno's to shut down.

True about the fuse though

That still makes it crap though Maybe I should have worded it better.

I cant stop watching this vid though - that second run is hilarious.

Through the front wheels. That car is all about pub talk cos I doubt you could drive it.

Respect though, it's kinda cool in its own right.

I've read somewhere in the manual that you can do the same thing to a Scooby. Apparently you should do it if it's being towed or something.

Fairly sure the Scoob system is perm 4WD, but the Golf system is a electrical funky thing.

It uses electrics to switch between 2WD and 4WD, only going to 4WD when it senses traction loss on the front wheels.

Engine sounds wicked, and impressive results, but if the awd system is ****e, then makes the whole effort a bit of a waste of time does it? 600bhp through the front wheels on a chassis set up for AWD, just going to wheel spin and get torque steer!

You don't need to pull a fuse to make a haldex car FWD, just put the handbrake on one click and it will disengage the back, or fully if they are actually stationary for dyno runs etc.

From: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?
Default

the scoob turbo is 'permanent' 4wd unless dccd the fuse is for the sport or auto models iirc.
