New Car Idea's Wanted!!
Went to Test Drive a Citroen C2 GT Today. Not sure what to think tbh. Not too bad but found the brakes really, really harsh, as in whiplash harsh!!!! Didn't feel it was much special, seemed to be lacking in the "*****" department!!! When I test drove my Mk2 Golf GTI for the first time, I KNEW I had to have it!!!
Want a new car around the same price (10k) but needs to be a brand new one!! Has to be something better around but can't find it!!! Any ideas?!

I have the C2 GT and it doesn't loosen up until about 3k miles, then it really starts to fly (OK, doesn't fly, but gets quicker and smoother ). Those brakes are harsh but you soon get used to them (and every other car feels like the brakes don't work). I bought mine just as a cheap runabout, but I'm using it all the time now as I enjoy it so much.
New C2 GT's can be had for under £9k on the road (I've even seen some at £8.5k) and remember they are limited edition, only 2250 of them for sale. The other 250 of the production run were kept back to make the Super1600 rally cars as the GT was made for rally homologation purposes.
GT doesn't come with a spare wheel (you get cans of foam instead) and you can't have aircon, which I've found I don't really need as you can just roll down the windows and the car cools nicely.
And if you want to modify, bits are already there.....
I also looked for something similar, but simply couldn't find anything in the same price range unless I went for a demonstrator/low mileage car. And I'd promised myself a brand new car for the first time in my life.
Cheers
Ian

Suzuki gets my vote - will be a bit different to the norm but you can worry the VTS boys with it ! 900kgs and 105bhp ?!?!? tops out just of 100 mph but for the bendy bits it would be a laugh !
