It's a davyboy post, so it must be a Porker of some sort.

6:11 is the outright record set in a Porsche 956, we're talking about the new production car record here.

Previous record was by the Radical driven by Phil Bennet wasn't it?

davyboy - I don't think you'd have much trouble buying a radical compared to a carrera gt.

incidentally, who was driving?

Horst von Saurma was driving.

I don't see how you can call a Radical Turbo a production car.......I mean how many have they made?

It's not a limited edition car as far as I am aware.

I have seen one with my very own mince pies!

That's pretty impressive for a road car.

It's not quite the same with theRadical is it, impressive as the car is. For a start, even though the Radical is 1/6 the price, it will cost more to run and maintain. Does the Porsche need engine refreshes every few hours? The Radical has a dodgy Quaife drivebox, rated at 300hp - lots of safety margin when the car produces 330. The cost they quote at £44500+vat doesn't buy the spec of the car that did the lap.

For a production road car - proper production, not a tuned car to get within 15 secs of the Radical is amazing. One thing you would have to say though, is that if the Porsche had a top speed of 160mph like the Radical, it would lose another 10-20 secs on the lap.

Plus the guy with the Carrera probably has got a Radical as well anyway

I work about 100 yards from a porker dealer, prob the biggest in the UK. Over the last month I have seen 4 or 5 Carreras. Look stunning and sound brill.

Agreed, that is a truly sensational lap for my current favourite car (yes, even over an enzo).

A racing driver friend of a racing driver friend drives in the radical series and they just break constantly. As mentioned, the box is the weakspot.

Just starting to think about a trackday car now the scooby has gone and I'm in sensibleville with my roadcar. Don't think I'd pick the radical.

Dracoro, yes, it would have gone over 160 in a few places I would expect.
