Default Scooters (yuck)

One of my work colleagues wants to get a (uch!) scooter to commute 5 mins to the station of a morning before the proper journey into work. Despite me insisting it would be more fun to have an R1 or Duccatti 999 he is insistent that for some reason this would be rather unnecessary,.... Anyone got any suggestions as to a reasonable one? Think Peugeot / Piaggio are supposed to be quite good?

Thanks!

Mum commuted 3 suburban miles each way on a Honda Melody for 5 years. Cost peanuts and did the job.

Peugeot have just lauched a new scooter for a £799. That would probably do the the trick. Not stylish, but cheap and brand new.

Of course we'd all be happy leaving our 999s or R1s lying at the station all day every day...............not! ;O)
