Pretty and Japanese is a contradiction in terms. Their designs are virtually always desperate, aspirational derivatives of European or even American cars, and simply always end up looking "wrong" in one way or another. May I exhibit the RX8 and 350z as current examples of this, both missing the mark; the former being particularly ugly, witness the front wing/wheel arch area.

I've always liked the RX7 (Gen 4), remember a black one nailing it past me on the M40 at night... Thought I'd been strafed by the batmobile!!!

I honestly dont think you can beat a classic Impreza, they have a stance that is spot on. Its difficult for me to explain, but involves the rear windows and the swage lines down the side.
Mk2 MR2 is still a great design

My all time fave J-car for good looks would have to be the RX7 FD3S (Gen 3).
Compare it to anything else that was released in 92 and nothing comes close!
Nowadays the surviving FDs have truly awesome styling to keep it up to date:
C West Sleek Headlamps (not pop up)
Scoot carbon bonnet
Mazdaspeed 99-spec aero kit etc etc
check out http:\\www.rotaryextreme.com as an example!
Next would be the
Mazda RX8
Nissan S15 Silvia
Mitsubishi FTO Version R Aero Series
Subaru Impreza GC8 WRX STI v5 Type R
Slighty off the subject, for sheer agressive ugliness (but I still love 'em):
1) Skyline R32 GTR
2) Pulsar GTiR
3) Skyline R34 GTR
4) Lancer EVO 6 RS

The other 2 are OK, but there is no way on earth the other 3 car be regarded as pretty!

I believe they are ultra rare and expensive.
Nissan Figaro and S-Cargo- you do not get a better looking van than that.

Mitsibishi Dangan Cute as you like, and with 4wd and a 600cc turbo'd motor, great for round town, nice touch is the passanger door being longer so as to aid in access to the rear seats.

Looks are really down to personal taste.
"Who's the most beautiful woman in the world?" Ask 10 blokes the same question, and they will all give you a different answer.
In my view (on Japanese cars), I do prefer the retro 80s style a lot with Japanese cars, so;
AE86 Trueno Sprinter GTV or GT Apex earlier type - has to be a Panda Trueno - possibly one of the most quirky looking car ever, IMHO!
Mk1 MR2 - the earliest ones, without all the added bits on.
FC3S with smooth bonnet
Subaru 360
As for more recent styling,
S15 Silvia - a guy I know has one, and was told by a woman "nice 'Ferrari" ^_^'
FD3S
S2000
Mk2 GTO
As for the most beautiful looking woman... hmmm, don't get me started ^o^

Its gotta be an 80s Nissan Cherry 1.3LX
FTO is a right munter, as is scoob
I like the GTR 32 but no way would I say its pretty
Supra and RX7 from early 90s (the fast one) are the nicest I can think of
