Question Sporty tow mule required

New sporty(ish) tow mule required to tug the XTR4 to and from trackdays and serve as a daily driver. Dog and wifeys horse gear must fit in the back too as it doubles as a stable mule too.

Seat Leon Cupra R 225bhp

Or

Skoda Octavia vRS Estate

driven the Leon - its not half bad - not driven the Octavia but hear good reports. Not interested in any more performance - thats covered by the westi

Or should I be hunting down another PD diesel to replace my GTI PD150 ?

Discuss.

What's the point in discussing when you take about a year to make your mind up

Used 330d touring, no question. Or A4 2.5tdi used. Don't get a Leon 'cos you'll lose more than you have with your golf. Get something with decent seats as well, to stop you driving around looking like Stephen Hawkin

Octavia, but not RS, 4x4turbo would make a better towcar.

A couple of years ago, my dad brought an Octavia 4x4 Turbo estate for towing amongst other tasks. Unfortunately it's been pretty unreliable (electrical gremlins mainly) he's looking to offload it quick and return back to Subaru/Mitsubishi.

Suprised, I bought mine at 13k, it's now done 68k and no electrical gremlins.

U sure - I've seen towbars on Cupra R cars at donington before - you just cut the rear valance on the bumper - rear end is as per mk4 golf I believe.

BMW 530D estate, my mate tows the Esprit with it, tons of space in the back and can be quite sporty if you track down a manual version. I would avoid a FWD car for towing.
