Scooby - X type
I am thinking of swapping my scooby for a Jag X-type.
Are there any pitfalls i should be aware of?
Its just that i need a car that is comfy for long drives and cheaper to run.

Hi,
Early AWD X-Types did have drivetrain problems. Most will have been sorted by recalls, but you do need to be a little careful.
I had a 3.0SE Auto that was on it's 3rd gearbox to my knowledge, plus driveshaft, propshaft, diff etc had to be replaced\adjusted. This car was clearly a 'friday afternoon' car, and must've cost a fortune on warranty repairs.
After 14months of arguing with Jaguar UK, they finally swapped me into another car of same age etc but that had no problems on warranty. I've had this car since January and it's had no problems at all. A wheel bearing has just started making some noise, but that's booked in to be done under warranty.
On the plus side, 3.0 giving 231bhp and 4WD isn't exactly slow Very comfy and great toys to be had. As I've said, the SatNav is a cracking system.
All the best
Matt
