Starlet Turbo
Are there any sites that have information on these cars??
I know they are 1.3 turbo's, but are they quick and are they tuneable?!
Also, what insurance group are they??
Cheers,
Grant

OK I have not owned one but run the Charade GTti owners club and the Startlet is one of the few competitors and some of the ownwers have had Starlets before.
From what I have learned the EP82 engine is not massively strong and I've heard of a number of blown engines but then thats true of many cars but it seems the meahcnicals are not massively strong. The later cars run a dual stage boost 130/160bhp and are pretty quick. Heading is quite tidy but not brilliant but again that can be sorted if you can find the parts. Not many palces know or specialise in these cars so you may find it hard to get support.
Reliability is good if left alone.
There were a fair few at JAE so I'll see if I can find out what club they were with for you.
You could always go for a Charade GTti !

try www.toyotagtturbo.com
They are fast and very tunable. I have the Starlet engine in my car.
The engine is strong provided mods are done in a certain order. The stock intercooler and turbo will take an upgrade to 12psi boost, but after that go FMIC and hybrid or different turbo. You would also need a RRFR and an FCD.
There are Starlets around the world pushing out 300+ bhp.
