Talking If you thought the DB9 was nice....

Aston Martin Racing has revealed further details of its all-new DBR9 that will spearhead the marque’s return to international motor racing in 2005.

This new GT racing car, which is based on the latest Aston Martin production sports car, DB9, is being prepared by Aston Martin Racing’s partners, Prodrive, based at Banbury, UK. Prodrive is responsible for the design, development and management of the DBR9 racing programme.

The first DBR9 is being prepared now and will compete during 2005 in selected international sports car events, including Le Mans 24 Hours. Three Aston Martin Racing Works teams will then be appointed to compete in major international sports cars series. These will be independent teams each racing two DBR9s with the full factory support of Aston Martin Racing.

Aston Martin Racing will also make a very limited number of DBR9 racing cars available to selected customers ( - note, must buy lottery ticket tonight). These cars will be prepared to the same specification as the Works cars.

Rather bad photoshopping by the boys at AM. That front spoiler is waaaaay too low.
Look forward to the proper pics when they are out.

And no Chris I'm not buying you one of them aswell!

Go on Mark

Yeah it does look a little 'low', but I bet it won't be far off that

Well if they're serious about Le Mans - they'll need the wing. I'd have one tomorrow (and I'm not called Barry )

If that's an official Aston Press Release, they really should be ashamed of themselves. I know ex Y2K staff that can photoshop a better looking car.

There was a bare DB9 shell at Prodrive when we visited earlier in the year, I think guy mentioned that Aston wanted to take it racing.
I'm tryng to figure out what the Aston was that I saw at the Channel Tunnel Terminal a couple of weeks ago. It was on the side of the road with black tape over the badges and a dodgy bit of plastic stuck along the side and the two blokes in it were desperately trying to re-attach the plastic sill just behind the Off side wheel arch. While we were watching, a black Focus pulled up along side to stop people looking at it and a standard DB9 pulled up behind it. They then all shot off through the Club Class check in and straight on to the train.
Anybody got any ideas?

Could well of been the AM V8 Mark. Not sure why they were hiding the badges. It was so obviously an Aston. And as for disguising the lines of it, why bother if there are photos available.

No problem I agree it's not a brilliant example of Photoshop. But if it is meant to provoke a reaction then I think it has been successful - I've seen this on so many car related sites.
