Question Any Cupra R experts on here?

What are the differences between the 210 bhp model and the 225 bhp model (apart from the blindingly obvious increase of 15 bhp)?

Was it a model year thing where the car got a facelift and an increase in engine power?

Any observations in the driver appeal/handling/performance department?

In short, which one's the best to go for? I ask because more doesn't always mean better.

Cheers
Kav

It has a different steering wheel and different wheel bearings and +15bhp.
Oh and costs 1k more than the 210 did, although you do get a tracker included along with the above.
As MGG said, have a look as SCN, loads of helpful peeps on there but remember to use the search facility!
I've got a 210, revo'd (chipped) to 270bhp and near 300lb/ft torque. Once moving the acceleration is fantastic. Handling, depends what you're coming from. It doesn't compare to my MY97 Scooby in the slightest.

Thumbs up

Good code - thanks chaps! One other thing; did both models have the Brembo calipers?

Cheers

Yes, both models come with Brembo calipers.
But beware, its only the front calipers that are Brembo, the rears are VAG calipers painted red which 9/10 times fades to a pink after 6-12 months and most dealers refuse to accept that this is a warrenty issue - although a £5 tin of hammerite soon sorts that out.

Another difference is the 225 has different shape door mirrors.

Cant rate mine enough. Superb car.

Thanks Dave

What are your thoughts on the build quality?

The last 210's had the same 'tear drop' wing mirrors
Build quality is fine (so far) there's a common fault with one of the rear seats rattling but it's easily fixed.
