FWD Hatch Owners - Tyre Life?
Just a rough poll of what people find reasonable for front tyre life on a medium-warm FWD hatch.
All road miles, mix of motorways, A roads etc. Oh, and a good sprinkling of roundabouts!

I got 11K out of the standard Brig Protz that fitted to my CTR, the second set seem to be lasting longer (done 8K on them and they seem only showing slight wear marks) apart from the shoulder whaich are rounded.
Mixture of A & B roads, motorways, general enthuasatic driving incl roundabouts.

My old Golf TDI (PD 115bhp) used to get about 12,000 on Pirelli P6000s. Complete mix of driving; fast-ish A-roads in the majority. Except the A-roads up here are more like most B-roads elsewhere
Local tyre business runs two CTRs.... reckons they get through a set every 5000 miles
My Volvo V70 D5 was horrific.... Same size tyres as a new STI (225/45/17)... fronts bald in 8000....
I think the biggest reducers of tyre wear must be auto boxes & RWD.
Old man's BMW 330D auto just had 4 new P6000s.... after 28,500 miles!!!!
And he drives like a nutter.
I'm trying as fast as I can to shred my new OEM Bridgestones so I can fit something decent.

I think I ususally get around 8k out of my fronts on the Festa, I had 10k from one set, some cheapo sh*te as I remember, got 4k and a smashed up front end out of some Yoko A539s, would never have Yokos again, I've never known a tyre that was so changeable, one day they'd be sticky, the next slippy as ****
I find the cheapo ones the best, I had some Matadors and they were ace, cheap, grippy and lasted well and you've seen how I drive, also I've done 90k in my car over 6 years so I have an idea how it works

Golf GTI circa 1988, Fulda tyres, personal best from new to illegal in 2000 miles.
Volvo T5, never more than 8000, Fiat Coupe 7000 and counting, might finish them off in a retail park one night as they are cheap and horrible.
'used to get about 5000(yoko a510) out of my old fiesta rs turbo, but it could spin the wheels in 3rd in the wet'
My Fiat does that, alarming isnt it !

25000 out of a pair of Uniroyal Rainsports on the front of my '91 Golf GTI ...! About 75% motorway with the rest made up of fast A & B road driving. Excellent tyres btw!

In my old mildy moded pug 106 xsi, 5000 miles on average on the front, less than 10,000 on the rears, Pirelli P6000's- and hard driving on the back roads...
I actually got more life out of the Yoko A539s. Prefered the grip levels from them in the dry, but they let go a lot sooner in the wet/damp.

Mini Cooper S modded to about 180hp (just exhaust and intake) ... going by the current wear about 10000-15000 miles on the fronts, original fitment Goodyear runflats. Will change all 4 to S03s or similar once the fronts are gone; less miles but more grip.
BTW I do about 20000 miles per year, about 50% motorway, 30% city, 20% country lanes and spirited driving (1-2 track days per year too).
