Never driven one but taken round a track in one, fantastic car, streets ahead of scoob (most other cars on the road) in terms of handling, class, fun, etc and a real drivers car. The only thing people criticise it on is the badge and maybe the interior but that just shows how good it is that they have to resort to criticising this car on such trivial items.

Performance wise, a 360bhp scoob will be faster but that's not what it's all about. My westie is faster than just about everything on the road but I'd not take one over an NSX or Lambo or Aston etc.

Drove a Targa version recently for a few days. Great sound, handling and looks - far better than a 355. However, its not that fast. This was an earlier version but it felt a long way off the 0-100mph in 10.9s which Autocar reckon the later versions can do. Still worth owning though!

It is the daddy, even though its quite old now...

And id rather own one than most of the so called supercars. Honda is king in my eyes.

The late, great Senna "tuned" the suspension for Honda during its development.

NSX Type R was launched a while ago, JDM only I think.

Aiiii! Certainly will do mate. You'll just have to wrestle the keys from "Nathan the chav" and remove the furry Burberry steering wheel cover! LOL

Buckrogers,

The NSX-R will be coming to the UK. It'll have an airbag wheel (boooo) and one or two other refinements. apart from that, it's the same as the JDM version

Having driven a nicely tuned example I can confirm they are simply awesome, you really can't compare a Scoob to them, brakes, gearbox, handling fantastic espeacily in MIlton Keys.

Matt which NSX you getting? New or Old ?

Matt,

It'll be a new one. Most probably on an 03 or 53 plate. Will tell you more nearer the time!

Old man bought a Targa in his late life crisis

I love it.

In straight line speeds a well sorted scoob will beat it. In terms of acelaration it feels just slightly faster as mine (250bhp ish).

BUT that's where it ends, you have RESPONSE. No lag, and lovely torque the engine pulls well in almost any gear, which is why it's so driveable round town. It's light, and it feels it, a scooby feels like a barge in comparison, yet the ride is still comfortable. Handling is superb I can't fault it really. An the noise it makes is superb.

The key thing that it has that the scoob can't even come close too...Feel and driver involvement. Brakes, steering, everything TBH.

Scoobies were based on 4 door family cars. A NSX is purely a drivers car...and it shows.

My niggles with the NSX are: Electric power steering, When it turns off at 50ish Mph mid-bid - it can be rather surprising. Toyota MR2 MK1 interior, seats are nice though. You have to "press" the boot and glass window shut....and keep telling every numbnut not to slam it as it won't shut (including the old man ) Tyres are bespoke to that car and are very odd sizes- thus are not cheap, and they don't last long either.

Doesn't the new type R have a proper rack & a decent interior?

I'm not sure, not really looked inside one.

I think the guages and dash layout are still the same (MR2 ish) Just different seats, gear lever and things like that.

I think the 1st NSX's didn't have power steering, ours does, you don't notice it really as it has a lot of weight feel and feedback to it. Just when it switches off at speed you notice the further increase in weight, so can catch you off guard if your driving with one hand
