Phil..
I've got a Bugeye with a few mods (300 odd BHP) and another car for kids and shopping duty...Picasso
I've got an MR2 in the garage..great fun when its going but showing it's age as it was registered in 1987.....
I'd go for a Vauxhall VX220 turbo, Lotus Elise or an MR2...
Midlife.....

If you want a budget racer for trackdays then I can recommend the clio cup, its great fun and also useable everyday. You could get a new pre-reg one on a 53 plate for around 10k and spend the other £5k on a nice bike or something!

15K will get you a mint R33 VSpec Skyline with low mileage. I'm considering buy one, and if you're after a fast GT car, it's great!
You know nuthin' else compares in it's class..
Mart.
