Visit your nearest Car Auctions ... some of the stuff that goes through these auctions for little more that loose change, often complete with some MoT and Tax, is very surprising, particularly for those visiting such places for the first time. A real eyeopener to the true values of cars.

Guys - only 1 person has mentioned it!
The auctions are THE place for sub £100 motors. Stacks of them EVERY week for well under £100 (including commission). Either HUGE barges that no-one wants, or cheap ugly run of the mill runarounds....(sunnys, old Seats, Polos, etc).
Think the cheapest I ever got was £30+commission for a Volvo 240GLT which had tax & MoT (it had 3 months tax, which equalled £30 then - so could get money back on tax if it was a duffer!). It was a stopgap car while I waited on the Scooby to be delivered. Fantastic fun though - absolute tank, and if anyone tried to cut you up, you just held your ground.
Sold it for £50 once the MoT & tax had run out (WTF! - £20 profit). This was over 4 years ago, and just got a txt msg from a mate last week to say that the guy that bought it off me is STILL running it
Loads of mates have bought Polos etc as commuting cars at auction for £50. Most have been run for years with little in the way of maintenance costs. It really is the cheapest motoring in the world. Upside is that the older motors have little (or none) in the way of electronics on board, so easy to maintain.
£100 is no challenge - that's TOO much cash
