Question Warranty Question

My Passat is 3 years old on the 19th May.

It was in Reg Vardy Leicester yesterday for it's first MOT - I asked them to look at the indicator which was crackling. This would have been a warranty job - ref Reg Vardy, but they couldn't find a problem (even though I can get it to crackle on demand ). I've got the car booked in for a service on the 24th May, which is the next weekday I can make it into Leicester, and asked if they can look at it again then.

I've since realised, that this will be 5 days outside the manufacturers warranty. Will they still honour the warranty as I reported the problem before the warranty ran out, or will they try to get out of it?

Would another dealer be happy to look at the car for me (one I can get to before the warranty ends)? I take it VW themselves would pay for the work and not the dealer?

You can take the car to any authorized/approved VW dealer. I'm not sure about independents
