I saw them, but having the cup suspension was paramount, and these do not come with it. I don't know if you can get them fitted at a later date?
10bhp more and more weight, in fact I guess the cup still has a better PTW ratio.
I know of a nice cup for 10500 - pre registered but still brand new.

Cup:
Power - 172bhp(DIN) @ 6250rpm
Torque - 148lb/ft @ 5400rpm
Weight - 1021kg
P>W Ratio = 168bhp/tonne
0-60 - 6.5secs
0-100 - 16.9secs
Speed - 138mph
182:
Power - 182bhp(DIN) @ 6500rpm
Torque - 148lb/ft @ 5250rpm
Weight - 1090kg
P>W Ratio = 167bhp/tonne
0-60 - 6.3secs
0-100 - 17.0secs
Speed - 138mph
(using Autocar figures for both)
The 182 is slightly better in the 0-60 dash due to the wider & grippier Michelin Exalto 2's but at the end of the day it's gonna be down the the driver & conditions and in reality there's b*gger all between them!

For £200 you'd be a nutter not to spec it, and no it can't be retro fitted...

had a test drive in the 182 (had the cup suspention) very impressed, chuckable grippy and rapid. grip was phenomenal. cant compare to the cup or outgoing 172 as i havent driven them.
cheers for digging out the figures RICH D
the website is http:\\motorpoint.co.uk i know a couple of people who've dealt with them in the past and glowing reports from one and all.
from the garage, he could'nt confirm or deny on retro fitting cup options but said he would find out for me.
in case anyones interested he knocked a grand off the asking price there and then without even really talking figures.
also motorpoint are going to see if they can source them with the cup suspention option, wait and see i'll let you know what if anything comes of it.

With the Cup suspension you get:
- Firmer shocks
- Higher spring rates
- Lower ride height
- Increased front castor
- Larger front hub bearings
- Wider track (wheels are different offset)
- Firmer sidewalled tyres

I bought my UK main dealer 182 for £13,450 inc Metalic, Cup Spoiler and Suspension.
You can get a main dealer down to nearly 13k, but I wanted an ex stock car.
I would be wary of buying a 182 without the cup suspension. They might be less popular than Blair come resale time.
Still enjoying the car, could do with more poke though. Love the toys and the way the headlights come on automatically !!. Plus the door pockets take a bottle of wine with no grief !

right, quick update, no the cup suspension pack isnt retro fittable. now bearing in mind the resale values etc...
£11699 gets a grey import from motorpoint minus the cup suspension spoilers and cat 1 alarm imobiliser
£12795 gets a uk spec car and i can add the suspension and spolers if i want (suspension 200 spoilers 150)
do i pay £1500 quid more for a car with a £200 option that i want and will increase resale. although the uk spec car is still 2 grand cheaper than out of the showroom?
i've lost objectivity so advice appreciated

Knowing the you will have to call on the warranty at some point as it's a Renault, I'd take a full UK 3 year warranty. I was told the Motorpoint ones are only 2 years.

Davyboy, think your right mate. i'd be mad not to go for the uk spec car, from what i can gather i'd be paying more for insurance for an import without the alarm and over a couple of years and the resale that 1500 saving would shrink.
what was sticking in my throat was the feeling that a £200 option was costing me £1500.
added bonus of eusacar being here in the north east and not far from work, so peace of mind an added bonus.
if anyone wants the addy its: http:\\eusacar.com delivery time 1 - 2 weeks, they do however offer silly money for part ex's.......so if anyones after a 52 323 sport.........

Yeah, been on this forum for a long time now, but still (as you know) not got a Scoob!
Actually got the CTR on Friday afternoon, which was earlier than I expected, but I've been on a stag do all weekend and the car stayed at home, so not driven it much yet...

Rick, have you sold the Cup now then? Should have told me, I seem to be interested in them at the moment now my Mi16 needs a full rebuild before Elvington.
Sounds like you bought a CTR then, what colour etc?
PS Know anyone that wants to do a full Mi16 rebuild for very good money?
