Default Ford v BMW Dealers

My local Ford dealer has just placed the final straw that broke the donkeys back, in this case the donkey being the BMW dealers

Recently purchased a Mini Cooper from BMW, for the wifey, sold my scoob and bought a mondeo ST24 for me. So I have recently being dealing with two different dealers.

Talk about chalk and cheese, i have had nothing but grief from BMW, down to the point where I have spoken to the dealership manager about the level of service (Mini has been back for 3 different reasons, taking a total of 11 seperate visits to the workshop). I have also had to speak to them about he way my wife has been treated i.e. like a bit of dirt on their shoe. Stuff like " You don't need to know whats wrong, it's covered under warranty" and "I've already explained that once, so it doesn't really matter"

Anyway, about the good stuff, my mondeo buying experience has been nothing but a joy. Went in to buy a 17k Focus, came out with a 7k mondeo! Car went back in as there was water leaking into the boot. Guess what, they fixed it the same day!!!!!!!! Replaced the rear lights, job done. I have just taken the car back in today as the exhaust is blowing.

Manager: "Sorry sir, but that is not covered under Warranty"
Me: "I bought the car less than 3 months ago, so I don;t think I should be paying for it"
Manager "Ok sir, we can't pay for the whole exhaust replacement, how about you pay £100 and we will pay the remaining £300"
Me: "Thanks, that sounds fair"

How easy was that!!!!

Anyway, the BMW dealer is Specialist Cars Stevenage, the Ford dealer was Gates in Hertford.
