New Mustang GT-R

New Mustang GT-R
Has anyone else seen the article on the 40th Anniversary Mustang in Auto Express. 440bhp, and looks it too . I really do like the look of the original mustangs (my step father had one for a while and sadly sold it before I was old enough to have a go) The 2005 ones take a step back to the 'original look' and are very nice .
Does anyone know of a link to some other pictures of the New Mustang GT-R?? If I remember the article it was unveiled at last weeks New York Motor Show.

Is that the new one?
Looks the dogs...not sure about the rear quarter window but without seeing it in the flesh I'll reserve judgement
What I can't understand is why they are putting on live axle rear suspension
I love the US attitude of "we don't need to go round corners." Still would probably handle ok in a country where they don't have to worry about hitting potholes halfway round a bend.

That one looks nice and I agree about the window, but not the one I was thinking about.
I found two pics...

Yeah I read about that beast a few days back....the figures sound amazing and looks awesome especially with that menacing wing and those 20 inch wheels (if you like the American muscle thing! ). The main attraction the ability to do little tweaks and minor mods to get an official track-going race car …I’d certainly trade up for that

Curchwa, that is simply the most beautiful car! My partner and I have wanted an old mustang since always! Would you mind if I PM you for some details? (I asume we are all talking about the car and not the plane ;D)
And definitely post some pics when it is done!

Sure, be happy to answer any questions.
The car is defiantly a genuine 1969 Mach 1 with a 351 V8, i have just paid for it to be fully restored. i would have it sooner but it is the 40th birthday of the mustang and the chap restoring it has gone to the US for a 2 week long party.
I am sure it will handle just the same as my old STI8 PPP

churchwa, it's been a long time since you last posted that picture...I thought you would have had it by now. Never mind, patience is a virtue my friend! What a truly magnificent motor! It kind of takes away some of the glamour from the new car (also above)
Yep, like the others have said be sure to post some piccys...and I hope for your sake, flares and aviators are back in fashion...
Respect Geezer!

Thanks for that, yes it has been a very long time since i last posted it, and my patience is running a little thin now. I was supposed to have picked it up by now, but problems in the paint shop pushed the project back 1 month. (Oh yeah, and the core plugs blew last wednesday) but rather this stuff happens when it is being restored rather than at 70mph on a motorway.
Fortunately for me I was only born in 1978 so I don't remember the first time Flares were in. Although i am a big fan of aviators and String Fellow Hawk!. (For those of you that remember our Airwolf buddy)
I will be taking it along to Ace cafe as well because i have friends with Chevvys and some amazing Low riders, so maybe i will pop along to one of the Jap meets there.

I love airwolf!!
Insurance will be bout 500-800 pounds. Fully comp with a 5000 mile limit.
Although my mate just insured his 64 Chevvy for 300 pounds for the year, so i will see when i get closer to the time. I did my research when i was 25.
here is another pic of what is almost identical to my car. i have the same wheels but with white writing on the tyres and i dont have a rear spoiler. (But i do have the front one)

Just had a quick google, thought I would throw in a link to jog peoples memories...
http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet...t/showid-1921/
'Walter Nebicher is a policeman. He is also an expert in computers. He developed a highly sophisticated hologram named Automan, which helps him fight crime. Automan has an assistant camed Curser that can create holographic objects such as a car, helicopter or any other object needed by Walter or Automan to fight crime.'
I remember the car... it would travel at nutty speeds and turn at right angles in an instant as it was digital I assume

I know, wonderful car, but the kit is only for the 68, and mine will be a 69 which is a much bigger car.
I thought about getting one, but they cost lots of money.
I am however tempted by the cobra wheels they have on it.
