a friend i know has one and believes it is 120bhp std, but ithought this was a bit optimistic for a 1.4.

95 hp for the single point injection 1.4 16v and 103 hp for the Multi Point injection 1.4 16v

Should imagine its the same engine as in the Base model MG ZR, which is the ZR 105.......so i think you have a winner!!!

*Cough* 120???? thats funny, the old rover 214 8v that i had shoved out a mentalist 74bhp...progress has been made!

The later 1.4 k series engines fitted in the 25's were developing a little more hp, better exhaust system probably...

The normal 1.8 k series manages 120hp, the 1.8 vvc 145 ish

I should add, I do know a guy with a 1.4 MG ZR that has a rr proven 120+ bhp from his 1.4, believe it was exhaust filter and chip though ...

LOL RR Proven doesnt mean anything apart from comparisons IMO, bench dyno'ed fair enough....

VVC cams can also be added to the 1.4 and like you say filter, exhaust etc and you should see around 110 / 120hp

My Cooper S has been RR at 243hp at AMD's rollers and it's nowhere near that but good for bragging......
