Default TT Haldex 4 wheel drive

I take it this is not full time 4 wheel drive, any opinions on how good it is?

I'm commenting from the 4x4 Octavia (220bhp/Haldex) viewpoint and 14 other 4x4 road cars, rather than specifically the TT:-

- It works but I still don't find it as predictable or reassuring as the 'permanent 4wd' Subarus (6) and A4 Quattros I owned.

- I switch the ESP off as it seems to over-ride the 4x4 rather than the other way around, which is nonsense when its slippy as it tries to cut the power rather than just lump the torque to the rear wheels.

- You can feel the steering stiffen up as the torque transfers.

- I've never had a moment other than not have the traction I expected.

- It really does save a lot on fuel by not powering all four wheels completely, all of the time.
