Default Buying a damaged but repaired car?

Hi,

I have found a seemingly good deal on a P reg 306xsi. Its in good condition, and has fairly average miles.

The only problem is, the car had damage to the front passenger wing. This has been repaired with a new wing, but is recorded on HPI.

Apart from the obvious issues of having a repaired car, is there anything else I should consider, or look at, or be concerned about? Does it affect insurance or anything like that?

Cheers.

just check it has been done properly, just putting a wing onto a write off won't surfice, make sure any chassis damage has been repaired. If it's all been done properly there is nothing to worry about, also your insurance won't be affected.

Thanks for that. Is any insurance claim recorded on a HPI, or is just write offs?

Pretty sure its only write offs on HPI. If it was all insurance claims about 90% of the cars in the country would be on there.

Just add to that of course, stolen cars and ones with outstanding finance.

and it does not take alot of damage to write off a older car (something that could be easily fixed)

So, as long as the repair is good and complete, there should be no real problem - i guess.

Default 306

It would take more than a front wing needed to write off that car. Must have mangled the inner wing on that side too - check its been properly jigged and straightened. And of course have a look for good measure.
