Default Anyone know anything about Toledos?

Hi,

Might be changing scoob for something cheaper to run, less insurance, etc. Kind of interested in the SEAT Toledo, the V5 or 1.8 sport. Tried one a couple of years ago, seemed pretty good and will fit two nippers in the back. Anyone else owned or tried one?

Cheers

I ran a Toledo V5 for a year or so, one of the first ones of the new shape in the UK in April 99. Great car to drive and the V5 sounds fantastic plus is wonderfully smooth, got loads of toys, leather/alcantara interior, electric everything inc memory seats & foldy mirrors, 6 CD Changer etc etc plus Satnav on the later ones. Best one to go for is the later 170hp 20v V5 version although I believe they were all built on the same production line as the VW Bora in Belgium so no dodgy Spanishs build quality. You can tell the more powerful version by the red V5 rather than silver on the engine cover and boot badge. They can be a bit heavy on fuel but no worse than the 1.8T. Make sure its got a full servcie history and you'll be fine. The 20vT version has only recently been introduced.

Chopped mine in for a Leon Cupra as I needed a hatch and now have a Cupra R. Best cars I've ever had.

Iguana,

Thanks for the offer, but I'll be looking for a two/three-year-old model if I do follow it up.

Cheers anyway.
